WW1 ERA GERMANY ARMY 12 YEAR SERVICE MEDAL

PRUSSIA. Service Award II class for 12 Years’ Service (PREUSSEN. Dienstauszeichnung 2. Klasse für 12 Dientstjahre), 30mm wide circular bronze medal with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the Prussian crown centrally, circumscribed ‘Treue Dienste bei der Fahne’ (Loyal Service under the Colours) in Gothic script; the reverse with the Roman numeral ‘XII’ (12 years service).

The medal was instituted in 1913 to reward soldiers who had completed 12 years of military service. The medal was suppressed in 1920.
