Offered is a WW1 era Kingdom of Bavaria Army Cavalry Officer's Sword with Scabbard.
The sword is an 1889 Pattern Officer's type, with nickel urn shaped pommel, with Bakelite pistol grip. The hilt has a steel half basket guard with the heraldic eagle of Bavaria as the cartouche badge. The straight 77cm long nickel blade is in very good condition, with very little wear. The blade fits smoothly into the re-enamelled service scabbard, retaining it's fixed suspension ring, showing traces of the original paintwork. The scabbard displays some kinks and bends as is fairly normal with these cavalry swords.
