WW1 GERMANY COMMEMORATIVE VETERANS LEAGUE HONOUR CAMPAIGN SERVICE MEDAL

Offered is an original immediate post WW1 War era German Veterans League Honour Medal. 32 mm wide bronze washed, stamped alloy medal has, to its obverse, the image of an angel about to place a wreath of laurels upon the head of a German soldier. The soldier’s helmet is in his right hand, while his left holds a rifle, a first class Iron Cross may be seen pinned to his breast, and a bayonet, with tassel, is slung from his belt. To the reverse of the medal is the image of a 1914 Iron Cross, with oak leaves and acorns along its base, and “Fürs Vaterland” (For-the Fatherland) arching above it. The ribbon suspension loop and ring are both intact. Award comes complete with the original ribbed ribbon.
