Offered is a WW1 Imperial German artillery officers etched sword with original scabbard, manufactured by Clemen & Jung of Solingen, most likely worn between 1889 & WW1. Features a gilded brass guard, with “jewelled” eyed lions head pommel. Floral oak leaf design “P” hand guard, lion head quillion & langet with crossed cannon artillery motif. Gilt triple wire twist handle with black composite binding in very fine condition. The 72cm long spear point blade is single fullered and brightly plated with floral & chequered design etching to both sides of the blade. Offered is a WW1 Imperial German artillery officers etched sword with original scabbard, manufactured by Clemen & Jung of Solingen, most likely worn between 1889 & WW1.

Features a gilded brass guard, with "jewelled" eyed lions head pommel. Floral oak leaf design "P" hand guard, lion head quillion & langet with crossed cannon artillery motif. Gilt triple wire twist handle with black composite binding in very fine condition. The 72cm long spear point blade is single fullered and brightly plated with floral & chequered design etching to both sides of the blade. Maker marked for Clemen & Jung of Solingen/Germany with Z in shield company logo under the langet. The chrome plated steel scabbard shows some plating loss overall, mostly to the drag, with single loose ring mount. Overall length 93cm.

A very good display sword worn by Prussian officers of the German Empire on social or formal occasions 1890s through the Great War Period.
