For sale is a 1914 – 15 Star, British War and Victory Medal (1914 – 18) all impressed named 0833 W.O. Cl 1 W MORIS. A.O.C.; Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (E.VII.R.) impressed named 2526 SUB- CONDR W. MORISON. A.O.C.; Meritorious Service Medal (G.VI.R.) impressed named 2526 W.O. CL. 1. W. MORISON. A.O.C. Court mounted for display, with A.O.C. cap badge, plus copies of service records, MIC and medal rolls. Conductor William Morison was born 1866 in Hull, Yorkshire. A clerk by trade he enlisted into the Ordnance Stores corps at Woolwich on 22/1/1889. He served for 20 years rising to the rank of Conductor by 1908, discharging on 20/1/1910. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (without gratuity) 1907. He served overseas in Egypt from 8/5/1896 – 27/5/1897. Cyprus from 28/5/1897 – 18/8/1901. Egypt 17/8/1901 – 25/2/1902. On the outbreak of WW1, he reverted to his former rank of Conductor serving in England from 26/8/1914 – 19/9/1915. France 20/9/1915 – 17/11/1915. Salonika 18/11/1915 – 11/2/1917. Home 12/2/1917 – 29/5/1920. Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with annuity in 1948 and died in 1950.
