WW1 WW2 AUSTRALIAN 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1917 SANDERSON SWORD
Offered is an original 1917 dated & Australian Issued Sanderson made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with Australian issue stamped pommel & working release button, used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped Sanderson (Sanderson Brothers & Newbould Ltd), dated for November 1917. The blade being factory sharpened only, with most of the original protective blued finish to blade. Standard leather & metal WW1 issue marked scabbard. Overall length: 58cm long. A near mint example bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
