WW1 WW2 BRITISH 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1907 WILKINSON 1917

Offered is an original 1917 dated Wilkinson Sword made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, lightly used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Wilkinson (Wilkinson Sword of Pall Mall), being dated 1917. The blades factory sharpened but dull edged with a very good bright finish to surface. Standard leather & field green painted metal WW2 scabbard, with round metal frog button, showing good honest use to the leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A good used example of a pre WW1 bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
