WW1 WW2 BRITISH 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1907 WILKINSON 1917 FROG

Offered is an original 1917 dated Wilkinson Sword made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard & leather frog.

Bayonet & scabbard features toned steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, lightly used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Wilkinson (Wilkinson Sword of Pall Mall, London), being dated for March of 1917. The blades factory sharpened but dull edged with a toned finish to surface. Cavalry type leather & chromed metal WW2 scabbard, with round metal frog button, R.A.F. stamped chape, showing good honest use to the leather body, retaining the leather frog attachment. A good used example of a WW1 bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
