WW1 WW2 BRITISH 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1917 WILKINSON AUSTRALIAN

Offered is a near mint condition 1917 dated Wikinson made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard, that was re-ssued to Australian troops during WW2. Bayonet & scabbard features all blued steel fittings, with unit marked pommel (UL 603 – University of London) & working release button, excellent condition Australian Slazenger 44 stamped wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Wilkinson Sword of London, dated July 1917. The blade being factory sharpened only, with full blued protective finish to majority of blade. Standard leather & metal WW1 issue scabbard, with WW1 era mouth piece, showing very small clean frog stud.  Overall length: 58cm long. A near mint example bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
