WW1 WW2 BRITISH 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY MAY 1918 SANDERSON
Offered is an original 1918 dated Sanderson made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, lightly used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Sanderson (Sanderson Bros. and Neubould, Sheffield), being dated May 1918. The blades factory sharpened but dull edged with a very good finish to surface. Standard leather & metal WW1 scabbard, with tear drop metal frog button, showing good honest use to the leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A good used example of a WW1 bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
