Offered is an original Italian Military 16 Year Long Service Cross. 35mm high silvered bronze Maltese cross with laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the crowned cipher of King Vittorio Emanuele; the reverse with a circular central medallion bearing the letters ‘XVI’ (for 16 years’ service); some age tone overall; on sewn original ribbon. The Cross was founded in 1900 to recognise long service and good conduct in the royal Italian military services.
