Offered is a 1910 dated Sanderson made First World War 1907 pattern, hooked quillon bayonet with scabbard.  Bayonet & scabbard features all period chromed steel fittings, with pommel (light pitting to points) & working release button, with issue stamps with faint ‘o’ unit issue, with wooden grips and metal guard, retaining the original hook. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and faint stamped Sanderson maker, stamped 1 ‘ 10 (dated January 1910). The blade being factory sharpened only, retaining majority of its chromed finish. Standard leather & metal scabbard, with WW1 era mouth piece & chape, cleaned overall, with service used leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A good example of a rare hooked quillon British made bayonet, used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle and predominantly issued to British, Australian and commonwealth troops in the first year of the First World War.
