^{Captain Vincent Patrick Quinn was born on 14/10/1902 in Queenscliff, Victoria. On the outbreak of WW2, he was working for the Post Office in Melbourne.}

^{He enlisted into the 2nd AIF on 27/12/1939 as a Corporal for service with the No 6 Postal Section. He embarked for the Middle East on 11/1/1940 and for the remainder of the war served in various postal units.}

^{He was promoted to Lance Sergeant in July 1940 and Warrant Officer Class 1 the next month and being promoted to Lieutenant in January 1942. He returned to Australia on 15/3/1942.}

^{Promoted to Captain in May 1942 he served in Port Moresby, New Guinea from 4/5/1943 – 9/6/1944. He was mentioned in despatches for Distinguished Service in the field during this time, he  returned to Australia at the end of his years posting.}

^{After the war concluded he was stationed in Japan as part of B.C.O.F. (British, Commonwealth Occupation Force) from 19/9/1946 – 9/11/1947.}

^{He discharged on 9/11/1947 and died in Victoria in 1985.}
