First World War 1897 Pattern British Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard.

Features a nickel pierced nickel guard, with King George VI royal cypher & crown design, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound fish skin grip is in very good condition. The 83cm long, straight blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with royal cypher, with maker mark for ALKIT LTD. of London. The leather scabbard is in very good condition, with no break in the stitching to spine, with light surface rubbing/wear. This is a good, well kept service sword, which could still be used in service today.
