WW2 CZECH ARMY & AIR FORCE MEDAL FOR BRAVERY 1939-1945 WITH GILT CITATION
Offered is a Medal for Bravery (Medaila za Chrabrosť) 1939-1945 issue with two gilt bronze linden leaf citation on the ribbon 33mm wide circular bronze medal with ‘V’-shaped bar for ribbon suspension decorated with linden leaves; the face with an upright sword imposed on the lion of Bohemia, the patriarchal cross of Slovakia to the left, a ribbon above inscribed ‘ZA CHRABROSŤ’ (for Bravery); the reverse inscribed ‘PRAVDA VÍTEZÍ’ (Truth prevails) and dated ‘1939’; on correct ribbon mounted for wear in the French style and with single gilt bronze linden leaf citation. The medal was instituted on 20 December 1940 by the Czechoslovak government in exile in London to be awarded to members of the Czechoslovak armed forces for bravery in the face of the enemy. A very good example.
