Offered is an original 1939-45 Czechoslovakian Medal for Bravery (Medaila za Chrabrosť) in its rare award case. 33mm wide circular bronze medal with ‘V’-shaped bar for ribbon suspension decorated with linden leaves; the face with an upright sword imposed on the lion of Bohemia, the patriarchal cross of Slovakia to the left, a ribbon above inscribed ‘ZA CHRABROSŤ’ (for Bravery); the reverse inscribed ‘PRAVDA VÍTEZÍ’ (Truth prevails) and dated ‘1939’; on original mounted ribbon; in original blue fitted case of issue. The medal was instituted on 20 December 1940 by the Czechoslovak government in exile in London to be awarded to members of the Czechoslovak armed forces for bravery in the face of the enemy. A very good example, rare in case of issue.
