Description

Offered is a WW2 era matching numbered German K98 bayonet with scabbard.

Bayonet features blackened fittings overall, with double waffen stamped pommel with working external release button, with screw in bakelite grips and metal guard & muzzle ring. The nickel plated 24.2 cm long blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to each side of the blade, with some field sharpening to spear point edges, with blade being in generally very good condition overall. Ricasso stamped 4741i & 42cul (Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie of Solingen). Standard metal scabbard with some traces of the period applied dull green enamel, with matching numbers & details.
