WW2 GERMAN ARMY NON-COMMISSIONED & OFFICER’S SWORD & SCABBARD

Offered is an original WW2 German Army Officer’s & Non-Commissioned Officer’s 1889 Pattern sword & scabbard.

The sword features a toned gilded brass backstrap and doves head pommel, with wire wrapped black celluloid grip (one small crack top left side). The plain langets are in good, toned condition on the ‘P’ shaped brass guard. The straight, double fullered 75cm long, un-marked nickel plated steel blade is in pristine condition, with remains of the red felt scabbard buffer to ricasso. The blade smoothly into the black enamelled service scabbard, retaining its floating suspension ring, generally very good overall. Sword measures 89cm overall, being in exceptionally fine condition. These swords rarely come up for sale and in such condition as this are desirable.
