Nickel-plated hilt fittings show minor surface wear with some light wear on the knuckle-bow, ferrule and pommel. Black wooden grip shows light surface wear with no cracks or damage and is complete with the early brass Police grip eagle and wire wrap. Polished matte finish blade is in overall very good condition showing light surface wear & runner marks and is complete with white leather blade buffer pad. The ricasso is maker stamped F. W. Holler of Solingen with the scales trademark. There is a small dent to the steel scabbard, which retains the majority of the original black enamel showing uniform surface wear/age and minor paint chips. Nickel-plated upper scabbard fitting shows surface wear & age. The sword comes complete with the rare leather hanger, which retains the D.R.G.M. stamped ‘A’ for Assmann & Sohne of Ludenscheid and is also RZM stamped. The sword's overall length in the scabbard is 96.5cm long.
