WW2 German S.S. 1933, transitional pattern dagger by J.A. Henckels Solingen
WW2 German S.S. 1933, transitional pattern dagger by J.A. Henckels Solingen. Black wooden grip with nickel eagle and swastika, nickel cross guards showing surface wear to finish. RZM 15/39 SS contract marked blade features the Henckels “Twins” logo. Measuring 21.4cm, with crisp motto ‘Meine Ehre heißt Treue’ (My Honour is Loyalty), showing excellent cross grain overall, sharpening to spearpoint of blade, but overall the blade is in very fine condition. Scabbard with majority of black paint carries handling chips to finish, nickel fittings show normal surface wear for age. Good example of a SS contract dagger in lightly used condition with scarce black leather vertical hanger with metal hanger clip. One of the finer condition S.S. daggers I have seen in many decades.
