 Offered for sale is a very nice example of a 1938 SS dagger and scabbard. Blade measuring 22 cm with crisp etched motto retaining most of its black background, cross grain still visible with some light runner marks but apart from this the blade is in very good condition, maker marked RZM 285/38 for as yet an unidentified maker, possibly a contract order. Nickel cross guards show some nicks and scratches but are in good condition. Hardwood grip retains eagle and roundel and shows some light marks, however none too serious and the fit to the cross guards is very good with little shrinkage. Original scabbard is dent and damage free and still retaining its original black enamel coating with some crazing in the paint, nickel fittings are in good condition with no damage and all screws are present. Overall a well presented SS dagger, which as we all know are increasingly difficult to find, especially in a condition such as this.
