Offered is an exceptionally rare Waffen SS General officers peaked cap. This Pekuro made cap features a field grey wool crown, with silver bullion piping overall. Nickel SS eagle & swastika is maker marked RZM M1/52 for Deschler & Sohn Munchen with SS skull & crossbones totenkopf badge below. One small moth nip to the top of the saddle shaped body and some small tracking to the rear. Black velvet band with bullion chin chords and side buttons are in very good condition. The peak is firm and shows no wear. The brown interior silk liner shows light use with some sweat staining. Sweatband shows light staining to the leather, which has had the original owners’ initials applied in the form of two aluminium letter discs. The maker stamp is present in the centre of the interior silk, which retains its celluloid diamond with only one small section broken away. The overall condition of this rare maker marked piece would rate 9.5 out of 10, being hard to fault and even harder to find for sale on the open market.
