Die struck D.R.L. bronze construction with pin to rear in very good condition, with swastika to centre base. Marked to the rear “D.R.G.M. 35269” (“Deutsche Reichs Gebrauchsmuster,” or, German National Registered-design [Patent] 35269), and “Wernstein Jena”. The DRL Sports Badge replaced the DRA Sports Badge in 1937 with the addition of the swastika. The badge was awarded in three grades: Bronze, Silver and Gold.It could be awarded to all Germans for attaining or achieving higher grades of sports proficiency.
