WW2 Norway wounded in action 1940 medals York & Lancaster Regiment Pte Crooks

For sale is a set of medals comprising 1939 – 45 Star, Defence and War Medals, these unnamed as issued.; Efficiency Medal (G.VI.R.) with TERRITORIAL bar named 4746675 PTE E. CROOKS. Y& L. Swing mounted as worn with a York and Lancaster cap badge. They come with extracts of casualty list and medal roll. Bandsman E. Crooks appears on the wounded casualty list for late April/early May for ‘North Western Expeditionary Forces’. It is believed that he was with either the 1st Battalion (Regular) or more likely the 4th Battalion (Territorial) who were in Norway 24th April – 1st May 1940. He survived the war to be awarded his Efficiency Medal in 1946. The band members were traditionally used as stretcher bearers when in combat.
