Court mounted for display and come with original card medal box for GSM & Clasp to E.P.POUNT with transmission letter for medal dated 1944. Captain Ernest Percy Pout is believed to have been born in 1912 at Canterbury, Kent. His father was an ex soldier who had previously served with the 9th Lancers. Pre war he enlisted into the 2nd Battalion The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment) with service number 6283788 and served in Palestine as a bandsman. An accomplished drummer, he attended three Aldershot Tattoo as an exhibition drummer, and was also a crack shot having competed at Bisley. It is probable that he discharged pre war and enlisted into Royal Artillery with a service number 990923. He discharged to a commission 11/10/1941 with a new service number 210739 and promoted temporary Captain 9/11/42 whilst serving in the Middle East showing him to still have an Emergency Commission in the 1946 officer's list.
