WW2 & SOUTH EAST ASIA 1945 – 46 MEDALS 634901 F/SGT MARKS ROYAL AIR FORCE RAF

Offered is a British War and Defence Medal (1939 -45), unnamed as issued, General Service Medal (1918 – 62), with clasp SOUTH WAST ASIA 1945 – 46, impressed named 634901 F. SGT. D.E.V. MARKS R.A.F. Court mounted for display and come with copy service record.

Flight Sergeant Dudley Eric Urban Marks was born on 18/8/1909 at Swansea, Glamorgan. He joined the Royal Air Force on 17/2/1939. He served at home during the Second World War with No. 209 Squadron, H.Q. 17 Group and later with 225 Group.

Post war he qualified for the GSM with clasp South East Asia 1945 – 46. It is believed that this was for the repatriation of POW’s. He purchased his discharge 1/9/1949. He lived at Western Zoyland in Somerset and died in May 1996 in Hampshire.
