Offered is an original WW2 type 98 Japanese Army officer’s sword, with signed blade by Inoue Suketsugu in rare military sling scabbard. 

Features a good standard officer’s type 98 hilt with silk wrap, seppa spacers & tsuba guard. 65cm long blade, being 83.3cm pommel to nakago tang point, blade shows shallow bends when looking along spine, edge is dull and carries 3 shallow edge nicks, signs of field sharpening. Swordsmith named tang and tang hole does not align with the hilt peg hole. Blade fits the wartime wood & leather scabbard very well and has extra carrying loop for fastening scabbard by sling across the back, upper leather leather wrap missing. Overall measures 90.5cm.
